Song Review: Breakfast In The Morning by Jon Ogah

Remember Jon Ogah, the 18-year old brother who won the maiden edition of Glo Naija Sings, in 2009?

Well, the Alternative World Music artiste is back with a new song, "Breakfast in the Morning", after a while of absence.

This is Jon Ogah's first single since he last released "Uncle Súrú", in November, 2014, off his debut album "Uncle Súrú".

Breakfast in the Morning is a "Pop Reggae" song. One that would definitely get every lips singing along to its beautifully and expertly crafted tune. Your ears wouldn't get tired of guzzling its Reggae-esque percussion/beats and bouncy bass. Neither would your emotions and endorphins levels remain at ground zero, when this song filters through your space with its airy feel.

The above feeling this song gives you is just a grace note, in comparison to the dreamy imaginations its semi-treacly lyrics and Jon's cushy vocals elicits from you. And the flush of frisson that envelopes your senses momentarily, as each trump from the electro-trumpet hits your ear drums, is priceless.

The bouncy rhythm then takes control...as soon as the piano vamping intersects intermittently with the blend of e-generated kick-drum bass cum snare-drum rimshots. With a little bit of spicy intermittent ring synths, to garnish.

The accent of Jon's vocals when he goes: "Uh uh uh uh uh uhhhh!" At the end of the "Bridge", was everything for me. It was just so seamless. Great breath control!

Breakfast in the Morning is a song that makes you want to fall in love. It's a song I already love so much. It's well produced, mixed and mastered. I rate this great song 5 stars out of 5. Very impressive work, Jon Ogah!
